OHMI offers three Elementary Music Classes.
Young Strings is a Suzuki-style class for 5 – 9 year olds to learn to play the violin along with their parent. Classes include a short private lesson time, as well as a group lesson time. The parent and the student must have a violin.
Elementary Music Class is for 5 – 7 year olds to teach them the basics of music through songs, stories, Orff instruments, hand bells, and music games. No previous music experience necessary.
Elementary Chorus is for students in 3rd – 5th grade to learn the basics of music through singing. They use hand percussion, learn music reading, beginning sightsinging, and vocal technique.
